Electricity Distribution Outdated?

Isn't it time we look to other methods of energy use for our world rather than the antiquated system of using electricity powered by non-renewable resources? The problem lies in the billion dollar energy companies who stand in the way of using known resources in order to protect their profits. It's up to us to make a stand in the ability to use renewable energy sources, not only for ourselves but for our children.
